Are there there oils, gas, metals and other pollutants entering our rivers by road run-off? This question can only be answered by collecting water samples and analyzing it in labs for these contaminants. Learn how to collect field data using a water quality meter and probe and also how to collect a bottle of water to be analyzed for contaminants by joining this program. Follow these 6 steps and join this worthwhile effort.
- Read "Quality Assurance Program Plan: Fairbanks WQ Program". This document explains exactly what this entire project is about, where the sites are, what we are sampling for, when we are sampling and with what. The Standard Operating Procedures in this document has step by step instructions on exactly how to use the field equipment, collect the water sample, transport samples and record data.
